The short version
When you apply for a role with us, we collect your CV and the details you give us on the application form. We use this only to assess your application. We don't share it outside Applied Vision, we don't sell it, and we delete it after twelve months if you're not successful — sooner if you ask us to.
Who's the data controller
Applied Vision Ltd, a company registered in England. The point of contact for any data-protection matter is careers@appliedvision.co.uk.
What we collect
- The information you provide on the application form — name, contact details, right-to-work status, LinkedIn profile if you share it, your cover note.
- The CV you upload, including everything in it.
- The role you applied for and how you heard about us.
- Any subsequent correspondence between us during the recruitment process.
Why we use it
To assess your application, communicate with you during recruitment, and — if you're successful — to prepare an offer and onboard you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (recruiting staff for our business) and, where you're successful, taking steps to enter into a contract with you.
Who sees it
Only the small Applied Vision team involved in hiring. We don't share applications with third parties. Form submissions and CV files are stored on Netlify (our website host) and processed by secure email into a controlled internal inbox.
How long we keep it
If your application isn't successful, we keep it for up to twelve months in case a more suitable role comes up — unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If you'd rather we deleted your data straight after the decision, just email and we will.
If you're successful, your application data moves into your employee record and is retained according to our standard HR retention schedule.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold on you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email careers@appliedvision.co.uk.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we've mishandled your data — though we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes to this notice
